ERR: The Journal of Affiliated Psychoanalytic Workgroups

After a brief run as a print journal, ERR: The Journal of Affiliated Psychoanalytic Workgroups is about to relaunch as an online journal. Please return to this page soon to see the first articles of the new ERR posted.

Statement of Editorial Policy and Instructions for Submission

ERR's editorial process is based on the cartel system introduced by Jacques Lacan. Any small group of individuals who want to publish in ERR would begin by selecting and then working together on a topic of psychoanalytic interest. Upon completion of their reading and discussions, the group would then submit their article to a member of the APW committee who will act as both an editorial reviewer and the "plus one" of the cartel. The reviewer will read and respond to the submitted piece and, if necessary, make editorial suggestions. The reviewer might also choose to write a response that would be appended to the published article. Once the review process was complete, the article would then be posted to this page.

Variations on this review process are possible. For example, a member of the APW committee might solicit an article by organizing a cartel, suggesting a topic, and acting as the group's plus one from the outset. Also, an already existing cartel might decide that they want to submit their report to ERR only after the completion of their work. It could also occur that an individual might approach a member of the committe, suggest a topic for an article and ask the committee member to suggest members for a cartel. In rare instances, individual authors may publish, although their work would go through the same review process.

The members of the APW committe, who will act as editorial reviewers for ERR, are:

Yael Baldwin
Kate Briggs
Levi Bryant
Dan Collins
Bruce Fink
Adrian Johnston
Cristina Laurita
Kareen Malone
Dany Nobus
Ed Pluth
Tom Svolos
